Summary

We have uncovered a fault in how EV charging is handled against the power limit (for the selected capacity tier and daily maximum). The issue was introduced in the June 25, 2025 update and particularly affects customers on IT grids and/or with an Easee charger. On August 20 we will roll back the change: when the limit is reached, charging will be temporarily paused instead of reducing the charging speed. A corrected version with dynamic charging speed will first be released as an open beta. After confirmed stability, it will be rolled out to everyone.

What happened?

In June, we changed the logic from pausing charging when the power limit was reached to reducing the charging speed to avoid many push notifications and to improve auto-resume on certain car models.

After this change, we discovered a bug that in some cases caused undesired behaviour for EV charging with respect to the power limit.

Affected customers: Especially households on IT grids (common in Norway) and/or using an Easee charger.

What’s changing now?

As of August 20, 2025, we are temporarily reverting to the previous behaviour:

When the power limit is reached, EV charging will be temporarily paused (instead of ramping down the charging speed). This happens automatically—you don’t need to do anything.

In parallel, we are preparing a beta update that reintroduces dynamic charging speed with the necessary fix. Once we confirm it works as expected with beta testers, we will roll it out to everyone.
