05.10.26 - System updates & Backup (FH Butler 4.3.0 & Backup restore 2.1.2 )

  • Updated

Performance improvements and increased stability for the Smarthub. The biggest change is that backups now support much more functionality, including Zigbee, automations, Energy Guard settings and more.

What's new

  • Back up your whole setup. Backup & Restore now includes Zigbee devices, automations and Energy Guard settings, not just Z-Wave devices. If you replace or restore your hub, you won't need to set everything up again.
  • See progress as it happens. You can follow a software update while it installs, and a backup or restore while it runs.
  • Your hub looks after itself. If the internal storage starts to wear out, the Smarthub automatically backs itself up so your setup stays safe.
  • Longer hub lifetime. The Smarthub can clear out old logs, temporary files and unused software packages. This frees up space and helps the hub last longer.

Improvements

  • The Smarthub is faster and more stable. The service has been rebuilt on a modern platform.
  • Improved security and privacy for system updates, backup and restore.

Fixes

  • Updates that failed on some 1st-generation hubs now work.
  • The EnOcean inclusion option no longer appears on hubs without EnOcean.
  • The time zone setting works correctly.
  • Local access (local API) works again on hubs where it had stopped working.

Known issue
The app still describes the backup as a Z-Wave backup. That's no longer accurate, since the backup now also covers Zigbee, automations and Energy Guard. The app text will be corrected in an upcoming app update.
