System Update: Enhanced Control and Smarter Lighting
We have rolled out a technical update that improves how the system handles your devices. Here are the key changes making your smart home more reliable:
Better Color Control for Lights
Have you ever experienced your Zigbee lights dimming or unexpectedly changing brightness when you switch colors?
What’s new: We have changed the way we send color commands. The system now uses a more accurate method (Hue/Saturation), ensuring colors are set correctly without negatively affecting brightness. This applies especially to those using modes and shortcuts.
Device ID Improvements
We have made important changes to how devices are identified within the system:
Unique IDs: We have implemented a safeguard that prevents the reuse of old device IDs. This eliminates the risk of a new gadget accidentally "inheriting" automations or settings from an old device you’ve deleted.
Better Overview: The system now tracks exactly when a device was added (added_at), making troubleshooting and support much easier in the future.
Fix for Thermostats
We have corrected a technical error in how temperature values were stored in the system.
The Solution: Previously, some Zigbee thermostats could store duplicate values for the setpoint (desired temperature), which could cause logical confusion. This has now been cleaned up so your thermostat always refers to the correct value.
💡 Tester’s Tip
If you have previously had color bulbs that behaved strangely in shortcuts, we recommend testing them again now to see if the color transitions feel more natural!
